Test Driving the Chevy Volt Electric Car

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Last week I had the pleasure of cruising around in a Chevy Volt. It was a pretty new experience for me since I am used to driving regular cars with greater than average fuel economy, all electric cars, or hybrids. I had yet to try a plugin hybrid and was excited to test drive the Volt because I thought that is what it was...a plugin hybrid. I was pleasantly surprised though to find it is not. The Volt is actually an electric car that also happens to run on gas if you need it to. Pretty nifty … [Read more...]

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookies or Nests – No Bake!

By Tiffany 9 Comments

As mentioned when I made my Primal Coconut Raspberry Muffins last week I am trying my hardest not to buy LaraBars or any prepacked snack/meal bars anymore. Too much packaging and too much money spent voting for companies that do not share my values. There are some pricier bars I could buy from more ethical companies but those bars would cost upwards of $2.00 a piece. No thanks...and it doesn't solve the packaging issue. Well this weekend I found a darn near perfect solution and I am rather … [Read more...]

Jambu Nottingham Barefoot Boots

Fall is officially here and it is time for some lovin on the Fall collection of Jambu shoes, which have become a big favorite of mine over the years. They seem to have the right mix of fashion and style mixed with sustainability and outdoor adventure. For Fall I opted to try something I had never before seen.. Barefoot Boots! If you recall I have a love affair going strong with barefoot shoes. I wear my Vibram Five Fingers just about everywhere... the gym, the store, the zoo, hiking, … [Read more...]

White Vinegar For Household Cleaning

By Tiffany 9 Comments

If you are looking for a safe, non-toxic cleaner and overall household helper, white vinegar is a near perfect solution. This humble substance can be used in a variety of ways to clean and disinfect your home. I love to fill my sink with hot water, pour in some vinegar and a cloth rag, and give the house a through cleaning. I love the smell and wish it would last longer... it just smells so clean without the smell of noxious chemicals. Here are some ideas for how to use vinegar in your … [Read more...]

Green Smoothies Recipes!

By Tiffany 9 Comments

About a year ago (maybe less) my family fell in love with green smoothies. No it has nothing to do with green in the eco sense of the word but rather what is in the smoothie...lots of fresh, leafy greens. A universal issue it seems is the concern over getting our kids to eat their veggies, particularly the dark green variety. Green smoothies are the perfect solution for the whole family. We drink at least one but usually 2-3 green smoothies a day. This means we are eating lots of Kale, … [Read more...]
