Three of my absolute favorite things are on sale at Zulily currently. I jumped all over these deals myself so I had to share... Popsicle Molds: We go through lots of popsicles in the summer and to keep costs down, as well as avoid the needless wrapper and stick waste (which always end up on the lawn) we make our own at home. I also like having control over the sugar content and the use of artificial dyes. No need to ensure hyperactivity! Anyway we have several different molds to keep … [Read more...]
Nourishing Coconut Berry Smoothies and Popsicles
The weather warmed up pretty fast here in Central Ohio of late. I went from having the heat on to having to open windows and put box fans in them so we wouldn't have to resort to using the A/C, all in the span of one week. My kids reminded me that this was popsicle season and to avoid all the plastic wrappers and popsicle sticks that ALWAYS make their way to the carpeted areas of the house, we generally make our own. My favorite as a child was always pineapple or coconut with big chunks of the fruit inside. Yum! Yesterday I tried my hand at making some and combined the ever delicious taste of a … [Read more...]
BPA Free Popsicle Molds for Summer!
Is it almost that time again? My kids are already asking for homemade Popsicles using fresh juice, green smoothies, and fruit smoothies. Last I night I dug out our Tovolo rocket pops and star pops and perused online for one other set since the 5 of us can go through 12 pops on a hot summer day in no time. I won't buy in a store unless they are marked BPA free or they indicate the type of plastic used. There are lots of cute options online though. Besides the ones I already mentioned (above) … [Read more...]
