Getting Dirty and Looking Pretty to Boot!

By Tiffany 3 Comments

This lovely lady to the right is my 8 year old daughter. I have two boys and yet she is the one who would gladly spend every available moment outside playing with friends and getting dirty. She is such an outdoor girl and she needs boots that will not only keep her feet warm during our cold Ohio winters, she also wants some that are fashionable. Whether you are splashing in puddles or building a fort you need to look good right? Well, I hear that you do anyway. The good folks at Bogs offered … [Read more...]

Worm Factory for Indoor Composting

By Tiffany 15 Comments

A couple weeks ago we welcomed some new "pets" into the house... Red Wrigglers (worms). They even have a posh new condo in the kitchen so they are getting royal treatment. They are of course expected to pay their way in the form of wonderfully rich and dark compost for our garden this spring/summer. When we moved into this house it came with no composting area and we had other things on our mind prior to winter so we gave up composting for awhile. But I started to feel guilty about that as I … [Read more...]

Homemade Healthy Veggie Popsicles

By Tiffany 25 Comments

The kids and I had fruit salad for breakfast on Saturday morning ,before we went to the zoo. We had lots leftover so I decided to make some quickie Popsicles. I threw the fruit salad into my Vita-Mix, it consisted of strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries mixed with 1-2 tablespoons of raw agave nectar. I also added a cup of fresh juiced OJ and a big handful of baby spinach. Once it was all blended we poured the dark berry colored mixture into our Tovolo (BPA Free) Popsicle molds. We have … [Read more...]

A Summer of Fun and Other Stuff

By Tiffany 2 Comments

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend everyone! I have sooooo much going on right now I can barely find time to catch a breath. And it will only get worse! Today my daughter participated in a Trike-a-thon for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. She raised over $100 for the cause, which happens to be one of my favorite places to donate too. I absolutely love what they do and what they stand for. This spring/summer will be busy, busy as she is also going to be playing T-ball and practice begins in … [Read more...]

Eco Wrap

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend everyone! I will continue spending lots of time with my oldest son who is on spring break. We have been doing crafts projects, going to the movies, going bowling, and I think we are going to the zoo today if I can swing it. While at the movies I fell into a pothole and sprained my ankle which now has a golf ball size lump on it. :( But to cheer myself up I got my spring/summer haircut early. I hacked off my shoulder blade length hair...2 inches or so in length on … [Read more...]
