Using Citrus Fruits to Clean Your House

By Tiffany 10 Comments

Citrus fruits are actually quite amazing. Not only are they delicious and refreshing to eat they have many other household uses as well. One of their most powerful side uses is their ability to clean your home. When you have a tough cleaning job you need to do, you may automatically think you need a heavy duty commercial cleaner to get the job done right. Well, not only are those cleaners laden with chemicals that are not healthy for you and your family they are also very harsh and abrasive. … [Read more...]

Improve Indoor Air Quality and Breathe Easier This Winter

By Tiffany 1 Comment

We need to be concerned with the air quality in our homes because we spend so much time in them. Studies have shown that indoor air can be even more polluted than what we face outside. The EPA says it is 2-5x times more polluted. Why is this? Well, inside we have close proximity to all the dirt, chemicals, and germs we track inside, pet dander, dust mites, mold, VOCs from paint, and other compounds that off-gas from the furniture and others possession we have inside our home. In winter this is … [Read more...]

How to Clean Stinky Towels – Without Harsh Chemicals

By Tiffany 44 Comments

One of the things I miss about living in the Southwest is the fact that we never, ever had to deal with things like mildew and stinky towels. As a child, bathing suits and towels could be tossed on the carpet all willy nilly and only an hour or two later they would be crunchy and bone dry. Mildew didn't stand a chance. Later when I was cloth diapering my babes I had the luxury of being able to let the diapers sit in the diaper pail for a week or longer with no smell and no mildew. The first time … [Read more...]

30 Day Clean & Green Kitchen Plan

By Tiffany 11 Comments

Cleaning the kitchen is one of those things that I know needs to be broken down into daily tasks but an actual plan of action seems to elude me. I always seem to get the bare minimum done... aka cleaning the counters so I can prepare the day's meals or loading/unloading the dishwasher so we have clean dishes to eat off of. But cleaning the spray off the backsplash and stove, wiping down the walls, or cleaning up stray peas underneath the kitchen table... forget it! This year I totally planned to … [Read more...]

Simple Green Cleaning Tips

By Tiffany 14 Comments

LOVE to talk about green cleaning. No really, could talk about it all day long. I do not understand why so many folks rely on mainstream cleaners with their noxious and toxic chemicals. The green stuff works just as well and it is safe for humans and safe for our planet. There is just no reason to buy up most of the stuff you will see in the cleaning isle of your conventional grocery store. NO REASON. And before anyone brings up price I will concede that bottle of mainstream all purpose cleaner … [Read more...]
