I was doing a bit of blog reading this morning and came across a hilarious post at Of Fish and Family. It reminded me of situations in my own family. In that post Margo outlines how her husband frequently comes home from the grocery store with junk food. She also tells the amusing story of how her son proclaimed to Daddy and the whole store how mommy usually steals from the store.
This reminded me of how my own husband often comes home from the grocery store with junk food in hand. I don’t often blog about him because his job takes him away all but 4-5 days a month, so I am in actuality the primary parent of the household. Grocery shopping is my responsibility. When my husband decides he needs to make a grocery run while he is home he always ends up bringing home food that I must inevitably reject and tell him “We can’t eat that.” Last time he came home my son was given Coke twice. Grrr.
The Fish and Family post also reminded me of how my son thinks that we steal from Whole Foods because of all the free samples they give out there. You can easily come out of that store feeling like you had a full lunch. So in other stores my son has often loudly asked if we can steal from this store…like we steal from that other one!
I have explained this to him a couple times now but I am not quite sure that he understands yet that we do NOT steal from Whole Foods. :)
