LeapFrog Tag Giveaway

Remember my Leaprog Tag review from awhile back? Well, we my daughter is still using her Tag frequently…as in once a week or more. In the evenings she often likes to wind down by listening to Fancy Nancy or Olivia books. I am still convinced that it is a great way to keep a child occupied in an educational way while you run errands, travel, or sit in the DMV waiting for your number to be called.

March is National Reading Month and to celebrate LeapFrog has started a campaign to get parents to pledge a combined 1 million hours of reading time for their children. Their goal is to bring attention to literacy and to encourage families to make time to read together..even if it is only 10 minutes a day. Who can’t manage ten minutes a day???

All participants will receive special rewards and offers from LeapFrog but one of my readers will get something EXTRA special!!! All you have to do is go to the LeapFrog pledge page and pledge (it’s FREE) the number of minutes you will read to your child or children every day. THEN come back here and tell me in the comments section how many minutes you pledged or just that you pledged if you don’t want to share the minutes. The comment will be your entry. Subsequent entries can be gained by linking to this post, or submitting it to social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Stumbleupon. Each entry needs to be a separate comment but you must pledge for it to be valid.

So what do you get??! One winner will get, directly from LeapFrog, one Tag reader + 5 books for personal use, as well as an expanded-memory LeapFrog School Tag reader + 10 books to donate to your local library.

    I pledged 1 hour per day. We homeschool our 4 children so that is a low number but one that is easily met on a busy day.

    I pledged 10 per day per child. I love reading as does my daughter and hope to surpass that number. I already do 10 minutes a day anyway. My kids love Leapfrog products and the Tag looks cool. They already have the Leapster and Leap Pad systems.

    I already read close to 40 minutes a day combined between my two kids. I feel like I need a drink next to me with all the speaking parts I do… We got the TAG reader for xmas and love it. While it is not in high rotation it fills a certain niche in our house sometimes. But I can’t say enough how much my kids vocabularies have been influenced by the high levels of daily reading. Reading consistently, daily, makes a significant difference.

    Both my girls are great readers. Both having learned at the age of 4. We read for about an hour everynight. It is a great family routine. As a matter of fact my 5 year old is reading this as I type it!!! Silly Girl! I love the Leap Frog Products. We have been using them for years.

    I pledged 30 minutes, but we already do that each morning before pj’s even come off! All in all we are typically spending 3 hours a day reading and looking through books with our 16 month old…this would be a fun way to vary that routine.

    Thank you for your commitment to literacy. It is so important for parents to read to their children, but also for the children to see their parents reading for themselves (newspaper, novels, etc.). Sometimes it is hard to find time to read for yourself b/c of busy parent lifestyles, but so important. I pledged to read 20min/day with my sons. Thanks!

    Hi, This is such a wonderful program. My sister is a retired first grade teacher/reading specialist and has always instilled in me the importance of reading with children and the benefits it carries through life!     Both my children have loved their leap frog learning books and leapsters but they have never gotten a chance to use the Tag. Look s like a lot of reading fun.

    I pledge 5 minuest to my grandson;s reading- the whole family is working on a little boy (6) who does not like reading and is having a rough time in scool with it. I recently bought books on baseball and football teams and players. He sits still when we read them, but only for a short time.

    I along with my husband-daughter in law-and son – are working with our little guy’ reading or better lack of reading. I pledge 5 minuets a day off on weekends. Hopefully he can get interested in reading as it is so important

    I pledge 5-10 minuets a day with my son and his reading. grandpa and grandma work along with us. We make sure the total is 30 minuets a day and not on weekends.I know the importance in reading throughout life and will keep up his reading.
