Here is a video I shot yesterday morning. Hear all the birds chirping?? The garden is coming along beautifully. Last year we let the lettuce go to seed at the end of summer so I found lots of places where heads of lettuce greens are sprouting all on their own. I think we are going to have a TON of lettuce this year.
This week we plant some cilantro and some herbs.
Nice work!
Last year I planted lettuce in a hanging basket out in my yard. This was an effort to keep the deer from eating it before I got to it. No, it did not work. They did everything in their power, including knocking down the baskets, to eat my fresh greens. This year I noticed that I now have lettuce growing in the garden area under the hanging pots. Maybe this will be a peace offering for the deer. They can eat what grows out of the ground and maybe they will leave my hanging salads alone!
Great tips. Your garden looks wonderful! :) This is such a wonderful blog. I come here often, as you can tell. :)
I love your photos. How are you able to take such sharp pictures. My camera leaves a glare sometimes with the flash. Any tips. :)
Wow! What an amazing garden! That’s so awesome!! I’m so impressed and even jealous! :)
Wow! Great garden! Good idea about the pinwheels. We tend to have a lot of bunnies around here. Does it work well? Also, do you keep the coriander seeds (when the cilantro goes to seed) and replant them the next year, or do you keep them for the coriander spice? I love cilantro, and coriander, so we haven’t decided what to do with it this year when it gets to that point.
The pinwheels work really well. I also usually let my cilantro go to seed for next year’s plants.
