Stainless Steel Lunch Carrier

Lunch inside a stainless steel carrier

As you already know, I have lots of love for snazzy lunchboxes and bentos. One of my favorites lately has been a very simple and classic stainless steel lunch carrier from Healthy Kitchenware. It is stylish, easy to clean, and easy to use. When my hubby returns to work at some point I think this is the lunch carrier I will be packing for him.

It is a rectangular container with a stainless steel lid that latches with metal clasps. It includes a small ss container with a plastic lid (polypropylene). The smaller container is perfect for salad dressing, soups, or smaller snacks you don’t want to mix with the main dish. The whole carrier could also easily fit inside another lunchbox if the portion size is too small for you but I thought it was perfect. Overall it is a very good lunchbox that we will use often I think and I love the fact that it is stainless steel and very sustainable and safe. I can feel good about my family eating out of it.

The picture above is my husband’s lunch from yesterday…white fish fillet, egg drop soup, and fresh fruit.

The reusable sandwich wraps have me so curious. How do they keep the bread from drying out?>!?!

  2. Deborah

I LOVE the children’s dish set. It’s so cute!!!

  3. Grace

My kitchen is decorated with strawberries, but I really liked the glass apple-shaped cookie jar! I know a lot of people have apple-inspired kitchens. This would be a simple, unique and practical decoration! A “frugal luxury” at only $7.99 :) So many great references and resources in your blog- many thanks for sharing!

  4. Melynda

Love the froggy cereal bowls! Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. robin

I love the glass containers with glass lids…It bothers me that my Pyrex containers have plastic lids.

  6. Angela

Neat stainless steel dishes for kids!

  7. Valerie

I love the three tier lunch carrier too. But my son will probably like the carrier you have pictured above better! Thanks for sharing.

    Just stumbled healthykitchenware.com :O)

I have switched my kids to stainless steel water bottles. For lunches, I try to have a trash free lunch by sending sandwhiches in in the cheap Glad containers but I’m not sure that the plastic is so good for the kids. I’m hoping that by not heating or refigerating it that it’s OK. That is why I would love to have the sandwich wraps to avoid plastics and have a trash free lunch. My daughter, who will need meals next year is not a sandwich girl and the 2 or 3 stacking containers look like they would be great for her.

I looked around expecting to like a stainless steel lunch carrier of some sort, but the glass barrel jar caught my attention. I’m buying a lot in bulk these days and looking for safe storage.

  11. Kerry

I have been looking for more SS alternatives.. would love to win this one :)

  12. mommyofthree

I really like the children’s stainless steel dishes that have a stainless interior and plastic outside. They are soo cute! I like that they aren’t stainless on the outside, which tends to get too hot or too cold to hold! The stainless steel lunch containers of various sizes are also nice.

  13. Eileen

Love the reusable sandwich wraps—what a fun idea. Thanks for a link to another great site!!

  14. Jennifer Hudson

I like the 3-tier stacking lunch box and the one pictured above – I love the smaller, seal-able container that fits inside!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. rachel

we use laptop lunch boxes for our kids- but are growing unhappy with the size- we need something a little more versatile and large for our growing boys appetites- the stainless steel lunch carrier seems perfect for my 12 and 9 year old boys.
    Thanks for spreading the word.

  16. Sharon

I love the sandwich wraps and the children’s plates/bowls. The less plastic the better!!!

  17. April

I’d really like the small 3-tier container! Thanks for the great giveaway.

  18. The three tier lunch containers are too cool! All the products on their website are great — I’d love to win the giveaway!!

  19. Melissa

I love the wrap n mat sandwich wraps!

  20. I like the Small 3-tier Stainless Steel lunch carrier (for me!) and the Kids Stainless Cereal Bowls and Dish Set – so cute! And I agree with the previous commenter – sometimes stainless steel gets too hot/too cold without some sort of “coating”. My 2 year old son is obsessed with koozies because his Kleen Kanteen gets too cold with his water!

  21. Deanna

I’m very interested in the reusable sandwich wraps and would love to win the lunch box!

  22. Nikki

Love the kid ss dishes! I was looking everywhere for some last month!

  23. Lauren

The sandwich wraps are very intriguing…and so is the stainless steel lunch box :) happy wednesday!

  24. Amber

That children’s dishwear set looks really cool! I’m always looking for an alternative to plastic or melamine, but it’s hard to find any that are cute, too. :)

  25. I love the re-useable sandwich wraps. I think they’d be great for sandwiches, crackers and other dry goods! Plus when my six year old wrote his Dear Mr. President letter (which aired on Campbell Brown, CNN) he asked the President to please take care of the Earth!

  26. I lov the 3-tier stainless steel carrier. We have a smaller 4-tier one which is nice, but I would like it to be a little bigger since I’m packing for 3 (eventually 4) of us.

I would most want the one you have pictured though as it’s great for 1 person.

  27. Nichole P

Cute stuff! I love the stacking ss containers… How did your husband reheat his lunch though? Or did you put it in there already heated?

  28. Julie

I am loving pretty much everything from the website, but what stands out the most to me is the Evenflo Classic Glass Baby Bottles. I am pregnant with our first child and trying to decide what type of bottles to buy, but the more I think about it, I am leaning towards glass, so this would be perfect. And also, I love the lunch that you made for your husband. It looks wonderful and so healthy. I make my husbands lunch for him everyday, so this neat lunch carrier would be awesome.

  29. CYNDI

It’s funny you posted about Healthy Kitchenware, because I spent a bit of time searching for their site on the web yesterday! About two years ago I bought three stainless steel containers for my son’s lunch box from this company. We have two of the smaller round containers (great for crackers) and also a larger round container that will fit a sandwich if it’s cut into four pieces. They are perfect-no crumbled crackers or smashed sandwiches!! Everyone at his school wants to know where I found them from. I know from experience that Healthy Kitchenware is a great site to work with-they super fast shipping too! Give it a try for Mother Earth! :0)

  30. Julia

I love the sandwich wraps and also the Fun Cereal Bowls – so cute!

  31. Radmama

Very interested in the sandwich wraps.. Wondering if I can make something similar.

  32. I love the reusable sandwich wraps. My husband loves a pb&j almost everyday, so I love that I can wrap his sandwich in that and not waste plastic bags.

  33. Melissa Moulder

I have wanted a Bento for so long! We don’t do take out much but I recently decided that I needed some to-go containers that I can take into the restaurant to have them put my food in…this looks perfect! Thanks

  34. Melissa Moulder

Oh, I didn’t mention another item on the website, sorry! I am in love with the Kleen Kanteens and am ready to get one for my hubby! :) My daughter loves hers!

  35. Hannah

  37. I like the Re-usable Sandwich Wraps because we’re currently using the wash out and reuse ziplock sandwhich bag method.

  38. Joy

The lunch and sauce containers you featured look like they would be perfect for my husband. I, personally, would love the 2 and 3 tier stacking containers, though.

  39. Bena

Any of the 3-tier stacking lunch boxes would be great for picnics or work lunches. Thanks for a great giveaway and blog!

  40. Bena

I just posted to my facebook page too

  41. julie

Love the wrap n mats… thanks for the giveaway.

  42. I really like the kids dishes!!! I have been using glass instead of plastic but the only downside of that is we have had two broken glasses and a broken plate. No good. This would be a great alternative!

  43. Molomatic

I keep meaning to buy one of those reusable sandwich wraps. The Healthy Kitchenware site has some great prints!

The lunch carrier you are giving away looks fabulous. My hubby is about to start an office job (after being self-employed for 7 years) and this giveaway would help make the transition easier. He’s not excited about packing his lunch and this would help. Thanks for yet another great giveaway!

  44. Marla

I like the selection of Wrap ‘n Mats.

  45. I especially like the sandwich wraps. I think I’m going to order some for son who won’t eat school lunch, but loves his peanut butter sandwiches! :) The children’s dish set is so cute too. Maybe I’ll get that for my little girl’s b-day. Thanks for some great ideas!!

  46. Melissa

Great for a small batch of scrambled eggs too! Thank-you for this opportunity to win the stainless steel dish. My husband would love this to stick on the back of his motorcycle for work, my older daughter would love to take this school. We talk to schools about waste-free lunches, this would be perfect. We are big bento fans here, and with another LO on the way a new lunch box is definitely in order to stash in the diaper bag for our day long events. We had used something very similar to the sandwich wraps in Japan, so seeing them available here is really exciting!

  73. I love the tiered stainless steel containers. My husband would love those for lunches too!

  74. Misty

I like the fun cereal bowls (set of 4) – my son would adore them.

  83. What a great give away! I like the small round stainless containers. Super cute and great for on the go snacks.

  84. Bucky

Very nice. Reminds me of the stackable stainless stackable lunch boxes that you find in Asian markets.

    I’ve always wanted those …

  85. Karen

I love the children’s dish set.

  86. Jen Mc

I like the wrap-n-mat reusable sandwich wraps!

  87. Jen

The small stainless steel containers might be just the thing I need to replace our plastic ones for days when we’re on the go! We’re gradually replacing our plastic food strorage with glass, but it’s too heavy and breakable to carry around with us.

  88. Jo-Ellen

I really like the Klean Kanteen water bottles. I have one and I try to keep it filled and in the fridge, so I just have to grab it on my way out the door. I also think the small SS containers would be great for my daughter’s lunch.

  89. Betty

I like the sandwich wraps and the 3-tier lunch containers.

I lov the 3-tier stainless steel carrier!!!

  91. Priscilla

I like the Wrap-n-mat reusable sandwich wrappers.

  93. Auza Maria Martins

I so love the kids SS dishes. So cute with the froggy. My son would love these since he is into frogs.

  96. Mackenzie

Loves the kids stainless steel dishes. Darling!

  97. Tammy Sanders

I think the sanwich wraps are a cool idea. i wish they sold cotton, cloth napkins. I have been looking into buying some, but have yet to find any at a reasonable cost.

  98. I have wanted to try these lunch boxes for a while now. I do have 1 question, does that yummy looking lunch come with it?

  99. Dawn

We use two stackable stainless steel containers for take-out food (usually dinner) but this size great as it is more suitable to a lunch portion size.

  100. michelle

I need to get some of those stainless steel containers for my son’s lunch box.

  101. Ashley

I love the Tiffins, the other thing I thought was really neat on their site is the stainless steel dishes for kids. That is such a neat idea and so much better than melamine.

  102. Julia

This giveaway has awsome iming since I’m about to start college, and will have to carry my lunch. Also the Gingham Wrap ‘n Mat looks really cute, loved it!

  103. Ashley

I love the wrap n mat, I pack my husbands sandwich in one everyday (well everyday that he remembers to bring it back home).

  104. I would choose the kleen kanteen sippy cups. I have two boys that still use sippy cups and these are such a better alternative than plastic

  105. Jillian

I love the wrap-n-mat sandwich mats. I never liked those 1 time sandwich bags…so wastefull!

  106. Claudia

I am very curious about these containers. How would you heat the soup? I got a Sigg brand one as a gift, but i haven’t used it for bringing hot food to work because we only have a microwave. any ideas would help…thanks and happy tuesday!

  107. Ashley

Claudia- I think you would have to put the soup in already hot. The one I have says it can’t go in the microwave or the oven. It also says not to put hot liquids into it, but I think if you heated it up and then put it in it would retain the warmth pretty well. I think they just say not to put hot items in b/c the SS would get hot and could possibly burn you.
