Reuseable Straws and Popsicle Molds on Zulily

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Three of my absolute favorite things are on sale at Zulily currently. I jumped all over these deals myself so I had to share... Popsicle Molds: We go through lots of popsicles in the summer and to keep costs down, as well as avoid the needless wrapper and stick waste (which always end up on the lawn) we make our own at home. I also like having control over the sugar content and the use of artificial dyes. No need to ensure hyperactivity! Anyway we have several different molds to keep … [Read more...]

The Power of Flowers

The Power of Flowers - Keeping Our Kids Confident and Mom Happy! Guest post by By: Amy D. Cohen, BFRP Life is so beautiful! The day I found flower remedies, is the day my life, and the life of my family changed. We are calm, happy, successful, no peer pressure, yes we argue and fight like every other family - but its different - its short lived, forgiving and over. You can help your child who throws a tantrum for 30 minutes calm it to 3 minutes in a few doses! You can help your child with … [Read more...]

Raising Resilient Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

By Tiffany 12 Comments

Our life with autism... I don't talk about this subject much and that is because it is very uncomfortable for me. It means walking a fine line between sharing my life and sharing too much about my children, who deserve privacy. It also means letting my dirty laundry air, so to speak, and admitting to everyone that our family life isn't pretty. Hopefully I can tread well with this post and not think I need to go back and edit out various parts. ;) This past week has been a roller coaster ride of … [Read more...]

BPA and Glass Baby Bottles – Siliskin and Wee Go

By Tiffany 24 Comments

Glass baby bottles are making a big come back in recent months. One of the primary reasons for this is that so many of the plastic bottles on the market contain BPA or Bisphenol A. Basically it is an estrogen-like chemical used to make plastic but it is actually one of the last things we want to expose our children too. It can speed up puberty and add to weight gain, and may cause changes that can lead to breast and prostate cancer. Other studies have shown that is may cause brain damage, … [Read more...]

City Sues Over Lead Paint

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

I just read an article about how the city of Cincinnati has filed a law suit against nine paint manufacturers asking that the companies be required to clean up all lead hazards in properties in the city, pay for a public awareness campaign about lead's dangers and repay the city for years of testing and investigating lead hazards. While I am not sure that this case is entirely fair to the paint companies I do believe that they should be putting a hefty percentage of their profits toward … [Read more...]
