Cutting Cable From the Budget, Easier Than You Think!

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Whenever you read articles or blog posts about budgeting and saving money there is always, always a tip to disconnect your cable and save $80-100+ a month. While I cannot dispute that this is a great tip and great way to save money, I was always firmly in the heck no camp. I don't watch a huge amount of TV but I do have some shows I like to watch...Property Brothers, Outlander, Grimm, Supernatural, etc. Some of those I could watch on my computer but honestly I don't enjoy watching that way. … [Read more...]

Inspiring Documentaries on Netflix

By Tiffany 4 Comments

Unlike a lot of moms in the natural parenting blogosphere I don't really harp on media and electronics too often. We are not a TV free house and never will be. My kids all have a TV, an xBox, and a computer in their bedrooms. We are plugged in and I quite enjoy it that way. For me it is more about balance and making sure we stay connected as a family and to the outdoors and other screen-free pursuits whilst still enjoying our screen time. I think our approach has worked pretty well. My oldest … [Read more...]

Take Action to End Child Trafficking With UNICEF

The whole family was home for the long weekend of late. Other than an all day event on Saturday we had nothing much to do so we cuddled up during the cold snap with some NetFlix movies. One of the movies I selected was Whistleblower with Rachel Weisz. I kept seeing this title pop up as a suggestion I might be interested in based upon my previous viewing history and I love Rachel Weisz so I gave it a shot. I was not prepared for how angry this film made me. The movie itself is great, I highly … [Read more...]

DisneyNature Chimpanzee Movie on Earth Day

By Tiffany 3 Comments

If you area anything like me you are trying to firm up Earth Day Plans already. How do you spend the day? Do you stay home and conserve fuel and energy? Do you plant a tree or do some gardening? Do you do a community service project? Well, one idea might be to check out the DisneyNature film Chimpanzee which will be released on April 20, just in time for Earth Day festivities. DisneyNature films are always stellar and I think this will be no exception, just like African Cats and Oceans. My … [Read more...]

Ideas for Date Night and Greener Sex

By Tiffany 1 Comment

In the spirit of Valentine's Day I thought I would highlight some ways to keep date night a green affair. Date night is something I hope that all couples are able to take advantage of at least once a month. It is so easy to lose your identity as a lover and partner when you have kids, home, work, bills, and all that other stuff that takes over our lives. I know I certainly let myself forget how important it was to stay connected to my husband over the years. Heck we didn't even celebrate our … [Read more...]
