America’s Most Endangered River

By Tiffany 4 Comments

It is true that I was born in the Midwest (Ohio) and live there currently but I consider myself to be a Southwestern gal at heart...a desert rat. I lived in Arizona for over twenty years and spent my childhood there. The Colorado River is a treasure to us desert rats and in the years before I left it was so alarming to hear how badly we were decimating it. The unsustainable way in which many live there is one big reason … [Read more...]

Earthling Month and Whole Foods Giveaway

By Tiffany 9 Comments

Attn: Giveaway at the bottom of this post! The Whole Foods market is celebrating Earth Day and beyond this year by transforming their stores into a hub for Earthings - humans inspired by the beauty and bounty of the earth. They are hoping to create a place for people to gather and share ideas for Earth friendly activities both online and in stores. Ways to Channel Our ‘Inner Lorax’ at Home

By Tiffany 1 Comment

So have you seen The Lorax yet? If so, then you know that it is fodder for lots of conversations within your family about environmentalism and how to put into practice Lessons With The Lorax. The movie is phenomenal and fun but the subject matter is serious and there is no time like the present to work together as a family to do your part and speak for the trees, and the air, and the waterways, and all things Mother Earth. The Lorax movie just brings us a fun way to launch into it with renewed … [Read more...]

The Green Diaper Smackdown

By Tiffany 156 Comments

Eight years ago if you asked me what type of diaper I would be using on my first child I would have given you a very confused look and said something like "Huh???". Nowadays many parents recognize that this question is not so easy anymore. In addition to the variety at the grocery store... Pampers, Huggies, White Cloud... we also have some others to consider. Disposable diapers with fewer chemicals, flushable diapers, and dozens upon dozens of options in cloth diapers abound. But which is … [Read more...]

Better Life Green Cleaners

By Tiffany 85 Comments

Green cleaners are not negotiable in our home. We are just too sensitive to the chemicals in conventional cleaners. My son had a severe reaction to toilet cleaner a couple years ago and I got hives the last time I touched bleach and Windex. So we use green cleaners around here. Some I make and others I buy. It just depends on my mood at the time but a green clean is not negotiable. Better Life Green Cleaners are a nifty new option for green moms. They are called better life because as parents … [Read more...]
