A Minimalist Approach to Toy Clutter

By Tiffany 22 Comments

How many times have you been frustrated with your child for allowing their toys to be strewn all over the household? How many times have you found your child’s toys in your way when you were in a hurry or trying to accomplish some household task? How many times this month have you had to argue with a child about the disaster area that is their bedroom? Toy clutter is a big problem in the typical American household. We live in a society of excess and amassing huge quantities of toys is just … [Read more...]

Being Grateful for My Good Life Every Day

By Tiffany 5 Comments

This post brought to you by Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine. I am not generally an optimistic person. I don't see the glass as half full without a little effort. I worry a lot. I stress a lot. My stomach being tied in knot is almost a daily occurance. It doesn't have to be over anything big either. It could be the fact that I have to float a bill (I hate that) or that I got stuck in traffic and my kids have to survive ten minutes at home without me after school. I take little stresses … [Read more...]

SodaStream Super Bowl Commercial Rejected

By Tiffany 7 Comments

I guess this also means I missed out on all the wonderfully entertaining commercials but I will survive I think. Because I didn't watch I don't care to get irate about the inappropriate content of the commercials. I have two eyes that are capable of looking away when I see stuff I don't like anyway. I see no … [Read more...]

The Magic of Herbal Remedies

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Many folks are afraid to dig in and try to use natural remedies because they still find it all very mysterious. Using leaves, flowers, roots, or dried herbs to heal what ails them still sounds so much like Hocus Pocus and it scares them a bit. The ingredients sounds so exotic and hard to find and they have no idea what a tincture is so why bother right? It is actually MUCH easier to get started than you think. You don't even have to be very knowledgeable or brave... you just have to start … [Read more...]

Helping Kids See Past Commercialism

By Tiffany 36 Comments

A little girl walking in the woods

Childhood obesity is at an all time high and kids are killing each other over the newest technical gadget or fashion craze. Are these the after effects of too much commercialism? TV is encouraging a sedentary lifestyle that is seeing our kids developing habits that foster obesity. Not only are TV programs monopolizing our children’s attention and imagination (or what’s left of it) but the commercials are too. Even if a child eventually loses interest in a program he’s watching the commercials … [Read more...]
