10 Ways to Reuse Tea Bags

By Tiffany 5 Comments

If you’re a tea drinker, you may be wondering what to do with all those leftover tea bags. This has only recently become a concern in our house. My 12 year old would also make iced tea here and there. We just composted our tea bags. As the quantity grew though I decided we might find some other uses for them. Here are a few things you can … [Read more...]

My Zulily Shopping Wish List

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Zulily is a deal site that offers amazing prices on everything from kids toys and clothing to women's clothing, shoes, and home decor. It also happens to be one of my very favorite places to shop because the prices are amazing AND they often have greener product options mixed in among the more conventional. In November I bought some workout clothing, a couple toys for my my youngest kiddo, and some kitchen items like my now beloved cast iron skillet. I consider myself to be a VERY savvy online … [Read more...]

TGIF – A Fresh Spin on Hot Chocolate, Fitness Blogging, and Laser Hair Removal

By Tiffany 3 Comments

TGIF! I spent the morning seeing the new Twilight movie. Yes, I am a 35 year old woman and yes I DO like the Twilight movies. I can own it! One of the best parts of the movie was seeing the trailers that came before it. I finally saw the trailer for the new Mortal Instruments movie (based on the books I read a couple years ago) and a trailer for the new Hunger Games movie. I am so, so psyched for them. I was also uber curious to see why there was so much fighting in the trailer for the latest … [Read more...]

Shampoo Bars – A Green Option

By Tiffany 25 Comments

As I mentioned yesterday I am a big fan of shampoo bars. They are usually all I use in fact because they have a big green benefit...no waste. There is no plastic shampoo bottle to throw away and that could be quite a bit of plastic over time not entering the waste stream. I have used many different shampoo bars and my favorites are the ones that come wrapped in fabric or a simple strip of paper...then the fabric/paper can be reused in crafts or composted. Shampoo bars also last me a long time … [Read more...]

Tru Kid Organic Hair Care for Kids

By Tiffany 11 Comments

Okay I really think I am in love with the TruKid line of natural organic products for kiddos. Yes, I have almost tried every product in their line-up now and it is indeed love at first use. I first mentioned TruKid products in reference to their amazing safe sunscreen for kids called Sunny Days. It is was/is one of my top picks and now the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has given it the thumbs up, making it #2 on their list of safe sunscreens. It is free of chemical nasties, paraben free, … [Read more...]
