TGIF! Date Night, Ethical Chocolate, and a Yogurt Giveaway

By Tiffany 24 Comments

Happy Valentine's everyone! I did my Valentine's date last weekend with my sweetheart and it was spectacular. In fact I had so much fun that I didn't feel like blogging much this week. Just wanted to sit on the couch with my honey and snuggle. Oh well! We went out for an early dinner and ate one of our favorites... sushi! We had a sushi place in Phoenix that we considered "our place" and had not had much luck finding a place like that in Columbus but I think we finally did. We got a sushi … [Read more...]

Green Smoothies Recipes!

By Tiffany 9 Comments

About a year ago (maybe less) my family fell in love with green smoothies. No it has nothing to do with green in the eco sense of the word but rather what is in the smoothie...lots of fresh, leafy greens. A universal issue it seems is the concern over getting our kids to eat their veggies, particularly the dark green variety. Green smoothies are the perfect solution for the whole family. We drink at least one but usually 2-3 green smoothies a day. This means we are eating lots of Kale, … [Read more...]

Cool off with Homemade Popsicles

By Tiffany 29 Comments

Cool off with delicious Popsicles this summer made with BPA free Popsicle molds! AND if you live in my house you get good old fashioned veggies or greens in your Popsicles too. Yum! And I fully disclose the ingredients...no sneaky chef here. My kids know they are eating spinach pops or kale pops or whatever the case may be and they are cool with it because they taste good. Seriously, as I was writing this my 7 year old son popped his head in my door and asked if he could have a spinach pop. My … [Read more...]

The Ten Best and Worst Foods

By Tiffany 3 Comments

I found a really interesting article today about the ten best and worst foods. What made the BEST list: 1. Sweet Potatoes 2. Grape Tomatoes 3. Fat Free or 1% Milk 4. Broccoli 5. Wild Salmon 6. Crispbreads 7. Brown Rice 8. Citrus Fruit 9. Butternut Squash 10. Spinach or Kale And what made the worst? Well, a Starbucks Caffe Mocha was called a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in a cup, cheesecake was called a prime rib for dessert, and Campbells' Tomaoto soup is a … [Read more...]

Book Review: Glorious One Pot Meals

By Tiffany 12 Comments

Being a mom that is greatly concerned with the health of the environment AND the health of my family...it is no wonder that the subject of food and cooking is one I think about often. I am always looking for new sources of local food and new ways to make meals easy healthy, and fast. I was very intrigued when I heard about the patented Glorious One-Pot Meals cooking system created by Elizabeth Yarnell. It is everything I hoped it would be and the BEST part about it is that it incorporates … [Read more...]
