A big part of green living that gets overlooked in favor of recycling is the simple concept of reusing. Yet the slogan is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The Shelter Pet Project
It amazes me that with so many animals living in shelters that we STILL have a need for pet stores and puppy breeders. It bothers me on so many levels. Even people who don't profess to be "green" will often talk a good game about recycling and reusing because it is smart and efficient. But that's resources. We can't waste resources. Is It Green, Religious, Or Just Smart?
La Marguerite wrote an article recently that really resonated with me. I think she accurately hit on an important factoid about the green movement...many people don't think highly of it. They have snide remarks, they thumb their noses at it, or just veil their distaste for something they perceive to be nothing more than a way of inconveniencing them or guilting them.
