As a mom of two boys and the Education Director for a nonprofit land trust, I am always looking for ways to cultivate a connection between kids and the natural world around them. We live in a world where access to information (hello, Pinterest!) is at our fingertips and “go big or go home” is often the mantra for everything from school projects to birthday parties. As parents, we know that being out in nature is healthy and should be a part of our children’s’ lives but we are often too busy or … [Read more...]
Bringing Up Bebe – The Wisdom of French Parenting
I admire attachment parenting philosophy quite a bit and that is primarily what guided me when my babes were little. I asked fans on my Facebook page how much they spend on food, assuming that they eat mostly organic, whole, nourishing foods. The answers varied but it seemed that families with only 2 or 3 managed to get away with spending only $200-400 per month. When the … [Read more...]

For Thanksgiving we went to enjoy two days with family who live a short car drive away. We had our Thanksgiving meal there. I found it easy to stay vegetarian and 50% raw just with typical Thanksgiving foods. I filled my plate and the kids plates with mashed potatoes, veggie casserole, sweet potatoes, whole wheat dinner rolls, and lots of raw veggies. No need for … [Read more...]
