Dominoes. Simple, fun, open ended, fast clean up, and very easy on the wallet, especially if you buy them up at auctions like me. ;)

We love dominoes! Funny, I just wrote about minimalist toys too, though for us they’re even more basic like driftwood and concretions. :)
Yes, driftwood would have dominoes beat as far as minimalism goes! ;)
I totally agree. Even though you probably wouldn’t think so if you saw my house. LOL My 3 yr olds favorite “toy” right now is an old lotion bottle. She refills it with water and it becomes all kinds of things. People always joke that kids like the box better than the toy in it. Its true. Shoe boxes are the perfect treasure chest.
We love dominoes too. Must have about three different sets. We also use our bicycle playing cards flash cards. My three year old loves yelling out the numbers, colors and shapes.
Dominoes are really fun to play especially if you do it with your family members as well as friends. It will be very exciting and you can add twist in the mechanics.
