I had an insightful moment when I opened my frig this morning. I made all three of my kids breakfast this morning but when it came time for mommy to eat I found I needed to clean cement-like banana off of my youngest…so I went off to give him a bath and forgot all about eating. Two hours later I open the frigerator and I am famished of course and I see two things side by side. One of them was a box of chocolates that my husband sent to me in the mail….chocolate that is neither organic nor fair trade certified. He sent them to me because he wants me to invest in the company that makes them. I won’t go into how outrageous I think this proposal is…I already ranted to Erin (who must really set up a blog ). :)
Anyway, right next to the chocolates was an organic plum. I am proud to say that I did not even hesitate. I chose the plum and boy was it yummy. This may not seem like much but three years ago I would have devoured that chocolate and well, if I had a plum in the house it probably would have gone bad and would NOT have been organic. It is little moments like these that show me how much my life has evolved for the better.
