Green Valentines

By Tiffany 3 Comments

green valentines dayValentine’s Day is just around the corner so I thought I would link to the article I wrote last year with some Eco Valentines Day gift ideas.

And here a few more simplistic ideas for that special day:

Nothing says “Love” like your time – Spending time with your sweetie has to be the easiest and lowest impact way to “gift” your valentine. Instead of showering each other with material objects why not set aside some time to spend together alone. Go to a movie or a museum, take a bike ride or a hike, take in a opera or a play… give each other the gift of time…there is nothing better….sigh. :)

If you can’t get away together because you have rugrats maybe you could gift each a few hours each to go out on your own or with friends. Maybe you could give your husband some time to go out with his buddies, watch some sports at a nearby sports bar, etc. and he could give you a few hours to go shopping, have coffee with a friend, or browse a good book store. Sometimes time to yourself can be just the thing you need.

Breakfast in Bed – There is no need to cook up a storm for this one. I have the perfect solution. Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Oat cereal by Kashi. It is like a healthy version of Cheerios with soluble fiber from natural whole grains, antioxidants, like white tea. In additions to the Os you will also find adorable little hearts! I have been eating this cereal for a few weeks and it is yummy good and available at most grocery stores.

Have a happy and green Valentine’s Day!
