Get Ready for the Summer’s Eco Block-Buster with Team ENERGY STAR

By Tiffany 1 Comment

If you have been reading this blog for any length of time then you know I am a big time movie fan. My first job was at a movie theater (which I then became manager of) and this was by design because a job perk that I got to see as many free movies as I wanted...me and unlimited friends and family. For years I saw just about every movie released. I often think it would be nice to get a movie theater job again because movies have become so expensive. Heck, I would gladly take on a part … [Read more...]

How to Clean Stinky Towels – Without Harsh Chemicals

By Tiffany 44 Comments

One of the things I miss about living in the Southwest is the fact that we never, ever had to deal with things like mildew and stinky towels. As a child, bathing suits and towels could be tossed on the carpet all willy nilly and only an hour or two later they would be crunchy and bone dry. Mildew didn't stand a chance. Later when I was cloth diapering my babes I had the luxury of being able to let the diapers sit in the diaper pail for a week or longer with no smell and no mildew. The first time … [Read more...]

Feeling Hardcore Today or Why I Joined a CrossFit Gym

By Tiffany 13 Comments

I joined a second gym this week. Sounds kind of crazy but I badly wanted to try CrossFit and you typically need to find a specialized CrossFit gym or "box" for that. My other gym is pretty darn awesome and I still plan to go there three times a week but they are pretty vanilla and just don't have kettlebells, rings, jump boxes, or medicine balls. I toyed with the idea of buying some kettlebells but heck good ones can cost $85 a pop. Plus I know myself well enough to know that I will not work out … [Read more...]

Threading – A Greener, Healthier Alternative to Eyebrow Waxing

By Tiffany 8 Comments

A couple months ago one of my Facebook friends was discussing how she was going to make a "threading" appointment for her eyebrows, which was supposed to be healthier than using a chemical wax. When I saw mention of this I was instantly curious and did a Google search to find out what this threading stuff was. After reading up I was instantly attracted to the concept and wondered if any place in my area offered such a service. Threading is actually an ancient method of hair removal that … [Read more...]

BabbaBox Fun for Kids

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

For adults you have the monthly Conscious Box (of which I am a huge fan) but I also recently came across a similar concept for kids, the BabbaBox. If you subscribe then you get a new box every month especially for kids with crafts and activities to keep them entertained and engaged for a few afternoons, and not glued to a TV screen. I like the concept for the obvious reasons... it encourages play, crafting, creativity, TV free play, ect. But I also like it because it gives busy moms, and moms … [Read more...]
