Very Hungry Caterpillar Counting App

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

I wanted to share this counting app for either iPad or Android devices because it is free at the moment, possibly only for today. I downloaded it myself for my autistic seven year old and I was just so pleased with it I had to share this deal. My kiddo, while advanced in age, is still only in Kindergarten and he has been having great difficulty with much of what he is learning. It is going to be a very long road I imagine but one thing we have already identified that helps him is having a … [Read more...]

My Zulily Shopping Wish List

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Zulily is a deal site that offers amazing prices on everything from kids toys and clothing to women's clothing, shoes, and home decor. It also happens to be one of my very favorite places to shop because the prices are amazing AND they often have greener product options mixed in among the more conventional. In November I bought some workout clothing, a couple toys for my my youngest kiddo, and some kitchen items like my now beloved cast iron skillet. I consider myself to be a VERY savvy online … [Read more...]

The Center of Science and Industry for Summer Fun

By Tiffany 6 Comments

As I mentioned previously we checked an item off our summer fun checklist last week. We went to COSI, which in my mind is a science themed children's museum. It has stuff that the whole family will enjoy but it caters to kids for sure. My husband, 6 year old, and I were invited as part of a local blogger event that introduced us to the early learning program they offer there. We attended the early learning class first off and then spent the afternoon wandering around the museum. We feel … [Read more...]

Rainbow Spaghetti for Sensory Play

By Tiffany 9 Comments

My husband and I took our six year old kiddo to an Early Learning class at our local Science Center this morning. It was oodles of fun for all but out of the five learning/fun stations available my son would only participate in one. It was the one that had bugs of course...cockroaches, worms, and banana slugs. Once he saw those he didn't care to play with paints, ooblek, blocks, etc. Nothing else could compete with bugs. I could not resist the rainbow spaghetti sensory tub however and I think … [Read more...]

Beyond the Sling Book Review

By Tiffany 8 Comments

When I reserved this book from my library I had no idea if I would enjoy it or not. I don't read too many parenting books anymore because my kids are getting older. While attachment parenting is a topic near and dear to me I don't need a refresher on subjects like breastfeeding, babywearing, and co-sleeping so much. Rather I go for books about specific issues nowadays and geared toward older kids. I think I ended up getting it because I really, really like Mayim Bialik. I loved her show Blossom … [Read more...]
