Los Angeles Bans Plastic Shopping Bags!

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Way to go Los Angeles!! As of yesterday they have become the largest US city to ban plastic shopping bags, joining other eco conscious cities like Seattle and San Francisco. They have taken a stand and declared that consumer convenience can not be placed before the environment and plastic bags are a serious environmental problem. According to Business Week: The Los Angeles City Council voted 9-1 to require stores that make more than $2 million a year or occupy retail space … [Read more...]

Are the Black Friday deals starting early??? I don't know but this is an awesome price for the Lorax DVD...only $3.99. If I didn't already have it I would be buying it for my kiddos and for myself since I happen to know this cuddly creature IRL. Oh yes, we are pals. :) Hope this helps you get a great deal on an eco themed movie the whole family will love. New York City Sightseeing

By Tiffany 15 Comments

Last week I attended the BlogHer 12 conference in New York City and was gone from Tuesday night until early Monday morning. I had lots fun, met with lots of friends (old and new), explored the city, and came home with really sore feet. I tried to go into this conference well prepared and that meant reading posts from other bloggers who have been and had advice to … [Read more...]

Weekending – In Photos

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Family, family, family...that is what my weekends have been ALL about of late. Guess maybe I am feeling a twinge guilty that I will be partying it up on New York City for BlogHer 12 in less than 2 weeks. ;) At a waterpark... pictured is my oldest boy (in the blue suit) and my girl is at the front of the two girls there. Spent some time w/hubby's family in Somerset, Ohio (though not under happy circumstances) and my sister-in-law likes to take pictures too, which means I am actually in one. … [Read more...]

TGIF! Illness, Hospitals, & Good Books

Have a great weekend all! I will be taking it very easy myself because I was knocked onto my tush this week by a cold. I haven't been sick in quite a long while and my good streak was abruptly ended by a week and a half of bad eating. I had it coming. Life got busy with school graduation parties, a visit from an out of country relative, and a local blogger event. I ended up eating only 50-60% paleo and had grain based meals several times, plus a dessert here and there. All the grains and sugar … [Read more...]
