My Recent Challenges

by Tiffany in Health & Healing, Tidbits

I have been absent quite a bit lately. The cancer has presented me with some tough challenges. Recent blood tests show that my blood counts are at 36% of what a normal healthy person’s blood counts would be. So, no big surprise but the chemo is killing off the good cells as well as the bad. Last week after my chemo I was hospitalized. I was dehydrated, really dog tired, and some blood tests showed something wonky is going on with my liver. A CAT scan showed no metastis still (hurray!) but most likely my liver is being damaged by the chemo drugs, so that is not so great. But the hospital was really pretty awesome in Scottsdale, Arizona. I got to watch non-stop premium movies and instead of the regular hospital food you can order from a nearby restaurant and they deliver in 45 minutes. Pretty cool.

I start round 8 of the chemo this week. I am hoping for better results.
