Over the past week or so a few comments made by one of my children and certain current events (Prop 8 trial) made me think we need to spend some time visiting the issue of tolerance as a family. One of the comments by my child made me wonder if their school isn't actually segregating the children to some degree. There is a large group of kids that attend their school that are racially and religiously different than what you might find typical in this particular area. You Don't Need Meat
Instead of reading The Lovely Bones this weekend as I planned, I decided to read the classic You Don't Need Meat. Weekending – What We Are Doing
We started the weekend a bit early. My oldest son had a little spill at school (slipped on ice) and he is home "sick" today. Thankfully, there are things we can do to stop the waste and say no to junk mail. 1. Think twice before giving out information Typically, you receive junk mail … [Read more...]
Non Plastic Storage Container Solutions
When I was doing some deep cleaning in my kids bedrooms last week I decided to research some non plastic options for storage containers. We have several of the plastic ones already and certainly don't want to add to that number by buying more. So I decided to see what was out there that was non-plastic. Since I was looking for my kids rooms obviously some of these will be kinda kiddie looking. I ended up purging so much stuff that I didn't need to buy containers... I settled for thrift store … [Read more...]
