This week I decided to try my hand making coconut yogurt AND coconut water kefir with young coconuts. If you are unfamiliar with young coconuts they are the white coconuts you often see in health food stores, not the mature brown ones that usually taste nasty (IMO at least). Simple & Clean Beauty Products
I am very opinionated about what goes on my skin or in my hair. It has to have simple and clean ingredients, preferably with no fragrance or smell. Yeah, occasionally I might like to wash my hair with peppermint shampoo bars but for the most part, fragrance makes me nauseous. Add to that the fact that I am totally a bar of soap gal. Nappy Balm and Sleepytime Bath
Aaah...the stuff that makes life easier. Two on my tops list this week are the Nappy Balm Protection and Sleepytime Bath from the Eco Store. My family has had a case of the sickies lately...some type of flu. Four of us, inlcuding me have had it and my two sons had some bowel issues that came with it too. Shampoo Bars – A Green Option
As I mentioned yesterday I am a big fan of shampoo bars. They are usually all I use in fact because they have a big green benefit...no waste. There is no plastic shampoo bottle to throw away and that could be quite a bit of plastic over time not entering the waste stream. No Cook Peach Cobbler
I made a delicious raw peach cobbler for desert tonight. The kids loved it and so did I and it is oh so healthy. Ingredients 2 peaches (chopped) 1 teaspoon raw coconut oil 4 teaspoons agave nectar (raw honey will also work) 2 dashes cinnamon 3 ounces raw walnuts 5 dates, pitted Preparation Peach filling: In food processor or Vita-Mix, mix peaches with coconut oil, 2 teaspoons agave nectar and a dash of cinnamon until smooth.
